Water Dispenser Power Saver
Our Water Cooler Saver automatically saves energy used by water coolers, water boilers and combination cooler/boilers. Power is disconnected at night, when the dispenser is not going to be used, and reconnected each morning, ready for use again.
How Does It Work?
Plug-in water coolers, water boilers and combo cooler-boilers are often left on all of the time and waste energy keeping the water hot or cold at times when no-one is going to use them. A typical water boiler will waste £48 per year like this.
The Water Dispenser Saver has a sensitive light detector and automatically disconnects power when it is dark and turns it back on when it gets light again. If the Water Dispenser Saver is set to control a water boiler, the boiler is turned off all night. If a water cooler is being controlled, power is briefly reconnected every two hours so that the coolers’ sanitisation features can operate.
A Water Dispenser Saver used with a typical water boiler will save £240 over 5 years and eliminate around 1000Kg of CO2.
The Water Dispenser Saver has features which deliver more convenience and savings. It can be set so that if a security guard briefly turns the lights on at night, the dispenser isn’t powered on again.
Printer/Copier Power Saver
Our Printer-Copier Saver automatically saves energy used by laser printers and photocopiers. The Printer/Copier Saver disconnects power at night and optionally over weekends and reconnects power again each morning, leaving the printer ready for use again. Power is only disconnected when the printer is idle.
How Does It Work?
Most office printers and photocopiers use laser technology which electrically heats parts of the printer when it is printing. Even when idle, many printers keep these parts warmed up so that it doesn’t take too long for printing to start again. At night and weekends when the printer is not being used, this energy is wasted. A typical workgroup printer will waste £24 per year like this.
The Printer-Copier Saver has a sensitive light detector and automatically disconnects power when it is dark and optionally over weekends, dramatically reducing wasted energy. It is intelligent and won’t disconnect power if the printer is busy, so you can set a job to print before you leave, knowing that it will be completed before power is disconnected. Power is restored when it gets light again and your printer ready for use again.
An Printer-Copier Saver used with a typical workgroup printer will save £110 over 5 years and eliminate around 500Kg of CO2.
The Printer-Copier Saver has features which deliver more convenience and savings. It can be set so that if a security guard briefly turns the lights on at night, the printer isn’t powered up again. It also has Weekend Saving mode where your printer can be turned off for the whole weekend.
You cannot use this product with photocopiers and multi-function devices which have internal hard-disks.
Laptop Computer Power Saver
Our Laptop Saver automatically saves energy wasted by laptop computers when they are fully charged and prolongs the life of the battery. The LAPTOP SAVER regularly checks the battery charge state, disconnecting power when it is fully charged and reconnecting the power if the battery needs more charge. Power is maintained until the battery is fully charged again.
How Does It Work?
Laptops have built-in power management which charges the battery whenever the laptop is plugged in to a mains outlet. The energy taken from the mains is lowest when the battery is fully charged. However, even when the battery is fully charged and the laptop is off or in stand-by, energy is still taken from the mains by the laptop’s own power supply and power management circuits. This energy is wasted and also shortens the life of the battery. A typical laptop will waste around £14 per year like this.
A Laptop Saver used with a typical laptop computer will eliminate around 150Kg of CO2 over 5 years.
The Laptop Saver automatically monitors the battery’s charge level and disconnects power when it is fully charged. Afterwards, power is briefly re-connected at regular intervals to allow the Laptop Saver to check the battery’s charge state. If the battery needs more charge – for example if the laptop has been used, power remains connected until it is fully charged again. Wasted energy is typically reduced 60 times and battery lifetime could be extended by a year.
